FD - the most streamlined and RS - more cruising-oriented
Design and Construction
It was in 1999 that the designer German Frers sent over the first line drawings for the Swan 82 to the boat yard in Finland. The first hulls were built to two very distinct deck styles: the FD; providing the most streamlined and race-oriented configuration, and the RS; for a more cruising-minded owner.
In reality, both versions perform all manner of functions extremely well, but each deck style merely gives a hint of the owner s intended purpose for the yacht.
More recently, Nautor s Swan has begun to offer a Semi-Raised Saloon (S) specification, offering a mid-option between the two original styles.
