The Oyster 49 is a new Humphreys/Oyster design destined to become, in due course, a worthy successor to the Oyster 485. Sharing all the major features of the highly successful 56 and 53 series, the new 49 has a striking outboard profile and a sleek deck layout with an ergonomically designed cockpit offering more space than her predecessor. The deck design incorporates a bulwark to give the yacht a graceful sheerline while retaining flat accessible side decks.
A long waterline and clean undistorted hull lines combine with a modern low centre of gravity keel to promise great performance under sail and power. The standard rig will be a sloop with optional cutter gear and in-mast furling.
